Finally pics of the new one 220ex

Well it's not necessarily new. It was their demo boat. The stickers are a wrap that I may pull off, I just haven't quite decided what I am going to do yet. If nothing else, with the wrap, is sure makes it look like I know what I'm doing....

I've been doing a lot of electronics... this picture was from today. Just got the radar mounted.

Here's the electronics. I have a c-80 up above that is the dedicated fish finder and back up chart plotter, and a new c90w that will be the dedicated chart plotter and radar.

I installed LED spreader lights to the rod holder. As a side note, this will be changing soon....Russ from the Defiance store ordered me an 11 rod arch. Fingers crossed, it will be here next week.

This is the 42 gallon bait tank that it came with.

Here's the other electronics upgrade. I charger that I can plug in. I also ended up adding a different battery system I now have 3 group 24 AGM batteries. 1 is the starting battery with an isolator from blueseas, and the other 2 are hooked up in parallel for the house battery. The charger plugs in and charges all three without me having to worry about swapping connections around.

I bought the boat right at the end of the season...the new season is in the not-to distant future...I have a couple of blackmouth derbies next month, then it's shrimp, lingcod, sea bass and halibut in May. Just trying to get it all dialed in before the season starts to ramp up. I installed a raymarine s1000 autopilot and was testing it on the water today. Can't wait to use it for trolling for tuna and the long 30 mile drives out into the ocean

Nice looking rig! Congrats! I especially like your battery system. Did you do that work yourself? Is there a diagram availble online to show how to set it all up? Also, where did you find the white downrigger weight holder? Or did you just paint a black one?

    Let's go fishing!

All of the battery work and the electronics were done by me.

The battery thing was a blue seas add-a-battery system. Just google it and you will get to their website. They have all their instructions and diagrams online.

The boat came with a normal 1-2 switch. This switch essentially is left in the "on" position. It isolates the starting battery, charges it, and then once it is charged, it then switches the relay and charges the house battery (or in my case the 2 paralleled batteries that act as one). The idea here is 1) no electrical drop off when I start the engines (raymarine is really touchy when it comes to that) and 2) you always have a charged starting battery so your not dead in the water somewhere. As a side note, if the house batteries ever got low, you can then flip the switch to "combined" and it will allow the starting battery to be used with the house battery.

Kind of a pain to install, but once you get it figured out, it works pretty good (well, at least on my first two runs with it installed).

nice looking boat tictac! how much your old boat 2006 def 200 sold for? thnks in advance, trying to do some research if i should go with preowned or brand new boat....

I traded it in at the Defiance store so I don't know what they sold it for. If I had to guess it would be in the 25K range.

Hey tictactug, have you been happy with your ACR set up? I've been thinking about installing one. Thanks, Mike

Yes, that switch set up is awesome. Raymarine is notorious for issues with voltage drop.

With the switch installed it isolates the starting battery so I don't get the voltage drop. This translates to the electronics not alway resetting themselves. It's a must have as far as I am concerned.
